West
Milford Township
Tourism Committee
The WMAA
is represented on the newly formed WM Township Tourism Committee, by
directors Lin Warren and DeBorah Goletz.
The object of the committee is to promote tourism in West Milford. We
hope to bring art appreciation to the top of the list of West Milford
township resources.
Lin also attended a seminar entitled “Economic Development Tools
& Techniques”, sponsored by the Passaic County Board of Chosen
Freeholders. She found that the seminar helped her to understand many
ways that West Milford could develop with the help of our organization.
Our advertising, and the classes that we offer, bring people to the
township, who then use other businesses.
The WMAA can be an important contributor to the economic development
of this township. The more people we can inspire through the arts, the
more of a cultural contribution we can make.
NJ Botanical Garden–
Dinner and Auction
WMAA members
showed their generosity by donating art work for auction by the NJ Botanical
Gardens. At a dinner held on March 27th, the pieces were sold to the
highest bidder, bringing in funds greatly needed by the state botanical
gardens in Ringwood. This also brought goodwill for the WMAA, as we
hope to work with Skylands Manor to show our work in the future.
The auction was a huge success, with many bidders vying for the same
pieces of art work. Work was donated by Stan Sisson, Larry Turnow,
DeBorah Goletz, Debra Bergerson-Heinks, Jill Dunlop, Letty Annis,
and Vince Heuring.

Let's all try to
attend other members’ shows and receptionsnot only is it
a nice thing to do socially, but it shows the kind of support that an
arts organization can rally. Bring along some friends and meet the artists.
Now that the weather is getting nicer, take the opportunity to get out
of the house, relax and enjoy some inspiring art work.

Brigadoon
West Milford High
School student and WMAA member Jordana Ferraro worked
on scenery design with the stage crew of Brigadoon, performed
last month.
Brigadoon, a popular musical by Lerner and
Loewe, originally opened on Broadway in 1947. It was later made into
a movie starring Gene Kelly.
The theatre gives artists a unique medium in which
to express themselves, and scenic design aids both the actors and the
audience in accepting the play as reality. Thanks to Jordana for sharing
her artistic input with the West Milford public!
